ITALIA - SPAGNA 3-1 (25-19, 28-30, 25-23, 25-15)


Italy and Spain fought at the kick off the tournament an exciting game, in which Italy decided the first sentence in his favor.
The Azzurris also dominated the start of the second set, but at the end the advantage was for the Spaniards.
The dramatic finish in the overtime won the Spaniards with 30:28.
The next set was marked by a struggle at eye level, with a better end for the Italians.
With the lost set the resistance of Spain was broken and the favorite from the southern neighboring country will win the first game of the newly founded WEVZA tournament.

BELGIO - ITALIA 1-3 (19-25; 25-17; 14-25; 22-25)

Top scorer della gara Giulia Melli e Britt Herbots con 17 punti. Belgio superiore a muro (11-9), e in ricezione (34%-32%), ma Italia migliore in attacco (42%-29%).

Classifica: Italia 6, Belgio 3, Spagna 3, Portogallo 0.


In the top match of Group B, Belgium and Italy played a great game with lot of nice rallies.
The “Yellow Tiger” got a great start to 7:3, then expressed great difficulty with the good service of the Italians.
Italy pulled over and drew up a lead which they then were able to win with consistently good service.
In the second set there is an open slugfest until 16:16.
The Tigers fought for every ball and then won the set significantly. Set three then evolved back to a one-sided affair for Italy.
Belgium was completely off the roll.
The spectators were once again able to enjoy an intense fourth set. Italy, at the beginning of the lead, came at 17:21 in trouble again, but then played her mental strength and turned the set for the victory
